From Ostrava to the world: summer flying made easy ✈️

If you live in Ostrava, your closest airport is probably closer and more useful than you think!

☀️ With the summer timetable, Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava turns into a small but mighty hub for holidays and work trips. More destinations, new airlines, easy connections.

Where can you go?

This summer you can fly directly from Ostrava to almost 30 destinations:

  • 🇬🇷 Greece – Rhodes, Crete, Zakynthos, Kos, Corfu, Lefkada
  • 🇪🇸 Spain – Málaga, Mallorca, Barcelona, Girona
  • 🇹🇷 Turkey – Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Izmir
  • 🇪🇬 Egypt – Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Marsa Matruh
  • 🇹🇳 Tunisia – Djerba, Monastir, Enfidha
  • 🇧🇬 Bulgaria – Burgas, Varna
  • 🇮🇹 Italy – Lamezia Terme
  • 🇦🇱 Albania – Tirana, Vlora
  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom – London
  • 🇵🇱 Poland – Warsaw

From Warsaw, LOT Polish Airlines connects you to more than 80 cities worldwide – for example Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, Toronto or Zurich – all on one ticket with guaranteed connections.

For many expats, that means easier trips home, simpler multi‑stop holidays and long‑haul flights without starting in another country.

Why start your trip in Ostrava?

The airport has strong “small but comfortable” energy: short queues, quick check‑in, no endless corridors and a calm terminal that is easy to navigate. Inside you will find a business lounge (including Priority Pass and similar programmes), VIP check‑in, two children’s corners and a parents’ room, free Wi‑Fi, several places for coffee or a snack, assistance for passengers with reduced mobility and parking directly next to the building. For families with kids, older travellers or anyone dragging half their life in a suitcase, this makes the first hours of the trip much easier.

Getting there: bus, train or car

You have three easy options to reach the airport.

Airport Express (line AE)

The AE Airport Express runs directly between Ostrava, Náměstí Republiky / Dubina and Mošnov, Airport. It is coordinated with flights to and from Warsaw, London, Málaga and Girona, and if a plane is delayed, the bus waits for arriving passengers for up to 60 minutes. Since April 2026, passengers with a valid ticket for a flight from Ostrava travel on this line for free by showing their boarding pass or booking to the driver.

Train

The station Mošnov, Ostrava Airport is right next to the terminal. Trains on lines S4 and S8, operated by České dráhy, run from Ostrava hl. n., OstravaSvinov and Ostrava střed directly to the airport and then further into the region. Tickets follow the standard ODIS tariff and can be bought on board from a ticket machine or from the conductor using a bank card or ODISka.

Car

If you prefer to drive, you can park directly at the airport. Long‑stay parking a short walk from the terminal starts at around 130 CZK per day, and if you fly with LOT on the Ostrava–Warsaw route, you can use car park P1 for free with a special parking voucher valid until the end of 2026.

For many internationals in Ostrava, the habit is still: first Prague or Katowice, then the flight. But with almost 30 direct routes and a strong connection via Warsaw, it is worth checking what leaves from OSR before you book.

Your next beach holiday, family visit or business trip might be able to start just a short ride from home – with far less airport stress on the way.

So, what is your next destination?
