Moving addresses?
In case you are moving within the city of Ostrava (e.g. from Ostrava-Poruba to Ostrava-Jih), you do not have to announce the new address. However, should you move to another city, you have to de-register from the Ostrava waste collection register (more info below) and register in the new city.
De-register when leaving
The obligation to pay the waste collection fee ends with the date you officially finish your stay in Ostrava. Meaning terminating your residence permit or changing the address to another city within the Czechia. When you finish your stay in Ostrava, remember to de-register. Fill in a form reporting the end of the stay and either send it to komunalniodpad@ostrava.cz or bring it to the above mentioned office at the City Hall.
